Evarist Chikawe
Evarist Chikawe was born on April 2nd, 1974 in Dodoma, Tanzania. His paintings mostly speak about mother love and its importance for current generation. Chikawe also perceives his paintings as a way of protecting his cultural roots and local African traditions. He started with his exhibitions when 23 year old. The first exhibition took place at the Region exhibition gallery of contemporary East African Art in Nairobi, Kenya. Since that time other ten exhibitions has taken place in Tanzania. He has participated in several workshops as Wasanii – International Artist workshop at Lake Naivasha in Kenya, Rafiki International Artist Workshop in Bagamoyo, Tanzania and Vipaji Foundation Pastel Workshop in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
